When Prickly Ice opens in Scottsdale in Summer 2027, it'll be a bit of a homecoming — a frozen cactus, in the land of real ones.

The Scottsdale flavor to try: prickly pear

If there's one flavor that belongs in an Arizona bowl, it's prickly pear — the fuchsia fruit that grows right on the cactus pad and has been a desert staple for centuries. It tastes like a cross between watermelon and bubblegum and turns the snow an unreal magenta.

Pair it with ripe mango, crisp watermelon and a squeeze of lime, and add a dusting of Tajín or a swirl of chamoy if you like a little sweet-heat — this is the Southwest, after all.

Old Town, the Waterfront, and golden hour

Scottsdale lives outdoors once the sun drops — walkable galleries in Old Town, a buzzy Waterfront, and desert-luxe sprawl to the north. It's a patio-and-sunset kind of city, and a cooling bowl is the perfect companion to golden hour.
