Prickly Ice is committed to making pricklyice.com accessible to as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or other assistive technology. Accessibility isn't a checkbox for us — it's part of being welcoming.
Our standard
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the widely recognized benchmark for web accessibility and the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
What we've done
- Semantic, well-structured HTML with a single clear heading outline per page
- A "skip to content" link and visible keyboard focus outlines throughout
- Descriptive alt text on every meaningful image
- Color combinations checked for sufficient contrast in text and controls
- Full keyboard operability — no mouse required
- Respect for the prefers-reduced-motion setting, which turns off animations and the falling-snow effect
- Labelled forms with live status messages announced to screen readers
- Responsive layout that reflows without horizontal scrolling down to small screens
We test with automated tooling (axe) and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks, and we fix issues as we find them.
Known limitations
This site is an evolving preview. If you find something that doesn't work well with your assistive technology, that's a bug to us — please tell us and we'll prioritize a fix.
