Is Shaved Ice Vegan? What to Look For
Good news: the snow is almost always plant-based.
Usually yes
Water-based shaved ice with fruit syrup is naturally vegan. The things to watch for are dairy add-ons — condensed milk drizzle, milk snow and ice cream at the bottom.
Ask for coconut cream instead of condensed milk and choose fruit and jelly toppings to keep a bowl fully plant-based.
Vegan-safe toppings
Most of the fun stuff is already vegan — you just skip a couple of dairy finishers.
- Fresh fruit of any kind
- Grass jelly and most fruit jellies
- Coconut cream drizzle
- Many boba pearls (ask to be sure)
